FOR A MOMENT, let’s imagine what it would be like to be fully alive without a physical shell or any of the stuff we need and desire for maintaining life on Earth. We’d have a mental energy that allowed us to move forward or backward, up or down, instantly creating whatever we desired. We’d be free to wallow in an exquisite existence without time or space as we know it. We’d be in a state of pure bliss, in love with everything and everyone. We’d have no duties or bills to tend to, no fear of losing anything, no one judging us, no possessions to insure, no demands on our time, and no goals to achieve.

spiritWhat we’re envisioning is actually the world of Spirit, which we experienced before we came here and will return to when we shed our body (or as William Butler Yeats poetically called it, our “tattered coat upon a stick”).

Inspiration is a state of being here now in this material world, while at the same time reconnecting to our spiritual origins. In order to be receptive to inspiration, we need to eliminate the ego clutter that accumulates all too easily for most of us—after all, if we’re preoccupied with events and activities that have nothing to do with inspiration, we’re unlikely to notice its summons. Yoga Outdoors: Embrace the Season

Spring is here!  Summer is coming quickly.  What a perfect time to start practicing yoga outdoors!

Practicing yoga outside can bring an added layer of experience to yoga, both physically and mentally. The physical senses pick up the motion of the wind, sounds, air, smells and temperature.  Outdoor environments can be particularly helpful when practicing breathing techniques and meditation.  A good practice when in nature is to focus on the sounds within you (your breath) and around you.  Birds, wind, and leaves in the trees are very soothing sounds that can immediately relax people who spend much of their time in noisy cities.  You’d be amazed at what a little sound in nature can do for your mind and spirit.

Some of these common locations make great spots to practice yoga, depending on the weather and the time of day.

The importance of physical activity

Changing your diet it’s just one, usually done first, aspect of your lifestyle switch. Once you stop eating meat and start giving your body food grown in natural (organic) way, your whole mentality is going to alter. You will start thinking clearly and will be able to deeply understand the surrounding world more. Some of it comes down to you paying more attention to your own needs and allocating more time for yourself, which is very often overlooked in our busy lives.The next step should be maintaining some level of physical activities.
